In this particular blog I will give Complete information about who is Aryabhatta , his life and his discoveries which is collected from different different article and books.
Aryabhata only surviving work is Aryabhatiya. In this he covered wide range of math topic, Square roots , quadratic equation and predicting eclipses.
If you are a student so must need to know about who is Aryabhatta, place of birth , The book wrote by Aryabhatta , where Aryabhatta go to school, which type of text written by Arybhatta representation of Aryabhata projects.
So guys are you ready for read so lets get start.
Who is Aryabhatta|Birth place of Aryabhatta
Who is Aryabhatta :- A great Indian mathematician and Indian astronomer from the classical age of Indian mathematics and Indian astronomer. Are you guys know the name of arybhatta is misspell Actually its spelled as Aryabhata. Varahamihira, the childlike coetaneous of Aryabhatta also mentions him as “Aryabhata”.
As well as, Bhaskara I too mentions him as Aryabhata. It seems as if the correct name was Aryabhata and not Aryabhatta. In this mean the “Bhatta” is not is surname actually its a part of his first name. In fact, there is a lot of confusion about his name too. Possibly he was called Arya and his surname was Bhat or Bhatta!
Aryabhata writes his book name as Aryabhatiya. In this book mention about kali yuga. He is also defines the relativity of motion, also a Physicist.
Place of birth of Aryabhatta :-
Place of birth of Aryabhata in a place called Taregana, in Bihar ( some people do not agree with the proofs). Taregana (also spelled as Taragna) which literally means songs of stars in Bihari, is a small place situated nearly 30 km from Patna, which was then known as Kusumpura later Pataliputra, the capital of the Gupta Empire.
Aryabhata mention in the Aryabhatiya that he was 23 years old 3600 years in kaliyug But here is not any evidence that proofs its composed in that year.
How other defines aryabhatta :- Bhaskara describes the Aryabhata as name Asmakiya which means one who belonging to the Asmaka country. During the time of buddha, A branch of Asmaka people settled in the region which is between the Narmada and Godavri.

Aryabhatta Great discoveries and work
Aryabhata is the Author of several books of Mathematics and astronomy but some book are lost. His famous work is Aryabhatiya a compendium of mathematics and astronomy. He is Indian mathematical literature and has survived to the modern times.
The Mathematical part of the Aryabhatiya covers Airthmetic, Algebra ,Plane Trigonometry and spherical trigonometry. He also works on contains continued Fraction , quadratic equation , sum of power series and a tables of sines. The next work is Arya-sidhhanta which is also known as lost work of Aryabhata.
Aryabhatiya is the book wrote by Aryabhatta.
So the guys now we will discover some details about the book Arybhatiya. Arybhatia is the only way to find the work of Arybhatta because he mention every details of his work in Arbhatiya. Arybhatta is not given the name of his book, Bhaskara calls it Ashmakatantra. It is also occasionlly referred to as Arya shatas astha.
Because of there is 108 text versis in text .it is written in Sutra literature Aryabhatiya divided into four chapter also known as 4 Padas.
Gitikapada ( 13 verses ) :- Kalpa, manvantra and yuga its present a cosmology different from earlier text such as lagadha’s vedanga Jyotisha. Also a table of sines are mention. Its described that the duration of the planetary revolution during a mahayug is given as 4.32 million years.
Ganitapada (33 Verses ) :- Covering mensuration arithmetic and Geometric Progression , Quadratic equation, indeterminate equation kuttaka , simultaneous.
Kalkkriyapada ( 25 verses ) :- In this chapter determine the different time of unit and method for determining the position of planets for a given day , calculation of month ( adhikamAsa ) kShaya-tithis and a seven day week with names for the days of week.
Golapada ( 50 verses ) :- In this Chapter define the details about the Geometric / trigonometric aspects of the celestial Sphere , celestial equator , node , ecliptic feature , shape of the earth , cause of day and night, rising of zodiacal signs of horizon, etc.
In the Aryabhatiya the description of relativity of motion. He expressed this relativity thus “Just as a man in a boat moving forward sees the stationary objects (on the shore) as moving backward, just so are the stationary stars seen by the people on earth as moving exactly towards the west”
Aryabhatta mathematical discoveries
Arybhatta place value system :- Place value system is the one of the famous discovery of Aryabhata. But firstly place value system is seen in 3rd Century in Bakhshali manuscript ,It is a ancient Indian manuscript made up with Bark of Birch in 1881 in village if Bakhshali. In this clearly shown place of number.
But while he did not use Zero, the French mathematician, Georges Ifrahe argues that knowledge of zero was implicit in Aryabhata’s place value system as a place holder for the powers of ten with Null coefficient.
Arybhatta did not use any Brahimi numerals instead of he use alphabetic letters to denote the number. Arybhatta follows the tradition of Sanskrit from the Vedic times.
Value of pi :- The approximation for pi is the second greatest of Aryabhatta he found the approx value of pi and also discover that the pi is also irrational number. In the Second Pada of Arybhatiya he wrote “Add four to 100, multiply by eight, and then add 62,000. By this rule the circumference of a circle with a diameter of 20,000 can be approached.
This implies that for a circle whose diameter is 20000, the circumference will be 62832 the value of pi is correct upto three decimal point. Value 3.1416
Trigonometry :- In his pada ganitpada he gave the area of triangle. Aryabhata discussed his work by presenting the concept of sine name as ardha jya. Which means half chord when Arabic translator translate from sanskrit its name as jihba.
Algebra :- In Aryabhatiya, Aryabhata provided elegant results for the summation of series of squares and cubes.
Arybhatta Astronomical Discoveries
Hey the reader are there its mean you really like to read more about Aryabhatta. If yes continue read and support my blog post.
Motion of solar system :- Aryabhata correctly insisted that the earth rotates about its axis daily, and that the apparent movement of the stars is a relative motion caused by the rotation of the earth, contrary to the then-prevailing view, that the sky rotated. This is indicated in the first chapter of the Aryabhatiya, where he gives the number of rotations of the earth in a yuga, and made more explicit in his gola chapter.
Aryabhata also describe the geocentric model of solar system in which sun and moon are each carried by an epicycles. In this model, which is also found in the Paitāmahasiddhānta (c. CE 425), as well the motions of the planets are each governed by two epicycles, a smaller manda (slow) and a larger śīghra (fast).
Aryabhata also correctly ascribed the luminosity of the Moon and planets to reflected sunlight.
Eclipses :- Aryabhatta explained solar and lunar eclipses , He explain it by term of shadow cast by and falling earth. The lunar eclipse occurs when moons enters in earth shadows. Aryabhatta discussed about the length of size and then provide the size of lunar eclipses and after that some astrologer improve it.

Aryabhatta satellite :-
The First Indian satellite name As Arybhatta for the honour of great mathematician and astronomer. Its was launched in 19th April 1975 from Kapustin Yar , A Russian Rocket launch and development site .Its is built by ISRO .
The launch come from and agreement by Indian and soviet union Russia by UR Rao,It allowed the USSR to use Indian ports for tracking ships and launching vessels in return for launching various different Indian satellites.
It was built to conduct experiments in X-ray astronomy, aeronomics, and solar physics.
Conclusion about Aryabhatta
Who is Aryabhatta :- Aryabhatta is a great personality and his discoveries in mathematics and astrology is give a core and opportunity to scientist for find new discoveries in field of mathematics and astrology. Aryabhatta did not discovered the some theories but he make its correct . The first India satellite was launched by russia which name is Arybhatta , Its shows the great respect and how much important is Aryabhatta for us.
Evidence suggests that Aryabhatta knew about “zero”. This is evident from the algorithms for decimals and a thorough knowledge of place value. Brahmagupta came many years after Aryabhatta. Hence it is evident that both already knew about zero.
He was born in 476 AD. in the village of Kusumapura now a day Patna , He passed away in 550 AD .
The name of Aryabhatta’s father and mother is Sri Bandu Bapu Athawale and Srimati Honsabai Banda Athawale respectively.
